I’m a regular daytime and evening speaker at libraries, local history groups, festivals, conferences and membership clubs and societies (e.g. U3A, Townswomen’s Guilds and the WI). As part of Archives Week I will be running a day-long Creative Writing workshop (working with Archives & Collections Manager, Corinna Rayner) with the theme: ‘Politics, Power & People: How did Birmingham’s people gain & use the vote?’ We will be using archival material specially selected by the People’s Heritage Co-operative as a springboard to writing creatively. This was part of a four-day series of events to encourage and develop young people’s writing.
